On our recent visit to Orlando, Florida we decided to visit a vegan restaurant in downtown Orlando. Here’s what we thought.
Ethos Vegan Kitchen is a full-service vegan restaurant located just north of downtown Orlando in Winter Park. Their daily menu is 100% vegan and features hearty, homestyle food. On Saturday and Sunday they also offer a Brunch menu.
We popped in for a late lunch one Thursday afternoon and we were so happy to see they had over 30 options on the menu! After fully perusing the menu, I decided to go for the 10” Calzone with their homemade tofu ricotta. The Calzone came with a choice of 3 toppings - they had loads to choose from and I went with tomatoes, Italian Sausage and Pepperoni.
My boyfriend ordered the All American Burger. A juicy quarter-pound burger grilled and topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, spicy mustard, ketchup and veganaise. It was served on a Kaiser roll. The burger came with tortilla chips and salsa on the side.
We both loved our food!! The Calzone dough with the vegan ricotta and marinara sauce was so delicious. The burger patty tasted meaty, full of flavour and was really filling. I will mention that they don’t do fries, so just something to bear in mind.
We also shared their ice cream sundae for dessert, with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and squirty cream (forgot to get a picture as we ate it so quickly).
They have an onsite bakery where you can buy all sorts of tasty treats! We decided to pick up a couple of cookies to take away with us. We chose peanut butter and chocolate chip and of course, yet again they were delicious!
The restaurant itself had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and the staff were helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone vegan or not, and if you are in the Orlando area, it is definitely worth a visit!!
