Vegan afternoon tea in Bournemouth

It's become a tradition in my family to enjoy a festive afternoon tea every year on the first weekend of December. After becoming vegan we knew that our choices would be limited, but thankfully we were able to find a welcoming tea room that offered a vegan option. Hello Compton Acres!

Compton Acres is located in Canford Cliffs, Poole - right on the edge of Bournemouth. It's a popular destination for weddings and it boasts a large garden with beautiful views - a perfect location for afternoon tea! They provide vegetarian and vegan options with the traditional offering of sandwiches, scones and cakes. The afternoon tea is £13.95 per person and the vegetarian and vegan options are sold at no extra cost.

Vegan sandwiches

The afternoon tea includes 4 vegan sandwich options; we had avocado and roasted red pepper, sweet hummus, onion chutney and a cucumber and dill soya cream cheese. The sandwiches were the perfect size. It also incuded 2 soya cheese and sunflower seed savoury scones.

Vegan Scones

The vegan fruit scones arrived at the table warm from the oven and were perfectly baked. They were served with plently of deliciously sweet coconut cream and strawberry jam pots. It was so nice to be able to enjoy these guilt free, allowing us to indulge in the full experience.

Vegan cakes

There were 2 varieties of vegan cakes included in the afternoon tea. The first was a vegan lemon Madeleline which was lovely and moist. The second was a caramel espresso cupcake topped with an amazingly creamy vegan frosting! The perfect way to round off the meal!

Compton Acres require an advance deposit of £5.00 per person. They prepare everything the day before your arrival, so when bookng remember to mention that you'll be opting for the vegan option. It is served between 3.30pm-5.00pm daily. The full vegan afternoon tea menu is featured on their website.
